A blog about my now-stolen Honda Fireblade

  • Stolen

A week to the the day that I brought it down to London, it’s been stolen from Rotherhithe: locked and chained up in the garage at my flat. It’s a red and black 2006 Honda CBR1000RR-6 Fireblade, registration number RV06MVL, VIN: JH2SC57A46M204191 Engine Number SC57E2204623 Thieving scum. I hope they get killed on it.

  • Goodbye Summer

    Goodbye Summer

I took the opportunity to have one last rideout for the year last weekend, making the most of a crisp, dry day to go for a blast through NE Lincolnshire. I probably won’t get a chance for another before the winter weather sets in and the gritters have a crack at making the roads slippery…

    Rockingham Trackday

Well it was time for me and the Blade to play properly on track and break in my new leathers and n00bish virgin kneesliders. So off we went to the Motorcycle Folly‘s Rockingham trackday on 19 July 2010. The weather was just right despite the Sunday before and the Tuesday after being wet and miserable;…

    RBLR1000

[Continued from my ZRX1200R Blog] Friday As the ZRX1200R wasn’t running properly after its full service at Robspeed, I made the decision to use the Fireblade for the RBLR1000: 1,000 miles in 24 hours with proceeds going to the Poppy Appeal. A last minute check of the Blade showed that another fairing bolt had gone…

  • Got It!

    Got It!

I picked the Fireblade up this morning from Robspeed in Grimsby. They’d done the changes: fitting braided hoses, Diablo Supercorsa tyres, a tailtidy, R&G crash mushrooms and some bespoke silver graphics with CBR and fireblade logos as cut-outs. The graphics look great: judge for yourself from the cameraphone shots. The bike is indecently capable and…

  • New Gear

So faced with wearing old and increasingly ill-fitting blue leathers on a red and black bike, I went to Hein Gericke in Hull today and ended up buying more than a grand’s worth of clothing. Fortunately, they had a £40 off offer if you spent over £160 so I used that a few times and…

  • Here We Go Again!

    Here We Go Again!

Well I’ve gone and done it: I’ve just bought a secondhand 2006 Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade in red and black from Robspeed in Grimsby. I won’t be collecting it until June 11th as they are going to be fitting some new Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa tyres, some crash bungs, braided hoses, a tail tidy and some bespoke…
